Comparison Between Cephalometric Measurements Derived from Cone Beam Computed Tomography and Lateral Cephalogram

چکیده
Objective: To compare the mean craniofacial linear and angular measurements derived from cone beam computed tomography synthesized lateral cephalogram those obtained conventional cephalogram.
 Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study.
Place Duration of Study: Armed Forces Institute Dentistry (AFID), Rawalpindi Pakistan, Feb 2017 to Nov 2018.
Methodology: Sample size was 32. Following were evaluated; anterior facial height, right side left mandibular length, nasal spine Upper lower incisors A-Pog distance. These by both means i.e., cephalogram. Each measurement taken twice single operator with a difference two weeks.
Results: No significant found among through head film cephalograph except for length (for which p=0.04).
Conclusions: Cone can be suggested as substitute Especially in conditions when is already required treatment planning thus reducing supplementary x- ray exposure expenditure an additional x-ray.

Comparison of cone-beam computed tomography cephalometric measurements using a midsagittal projection and conventional two-dimensional cephalometric measurements.
OBJECTIVE This study investigated whether it is possible to use a two-dimensional (2D) standard in three-dimensional (3D) analysis, by comparing the angles and lengths measured from a midsagittal projection in 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) with those measured by 2D lateral cephalometric radiography (LCR). METHODS Fifty patients who underwent both LCR and CBCT were selected as subjec...
متن کاملComparison of cephalometric radiographs obtained from cone-beam computed tomography scans and conventional radiographs.
PURPOSE We evaluated whether measurements on conventional cephalometric radiographs are comparable to measurements on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT)-constructed cephalometric radiographs taken from human skulls. MATERIALS AND METHODS The CBCT scans and conventional cephalometric radiographs were made using 40 dry skulls. With I-Cat Vision software (Imaging Sciences International, Inc, H...

Imaging is a highly dependent technology in the clinical assessment of a patient. With respect to the dental field, imaging has travelled a long way from the conventional radiographs to modern techniques like the computed tomography (CT) and the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). This article describes the evolution made in the CT in the field of dental imaging and attempts to compare the CT...

Background and Aim: Bone density is of great assistance in the selection of the proper implant site. The present study aimed to assess the correlation between tissue densities in computed tomography (CT) and three different cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) units. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, a radiographic phantom consisting of a transparent polymethyl methacrylate (PM...
